I wrote this introduction fairly early on, so that anyone visiting one of my blogs could have some context! It's still happily pinned to my Tumblr and Spacehey, although truthfully some of the minor details have changed or weren't worded accurately to begin with. So bear that in mind!

About Fairy Best Friends

Fairy Best Friends is an indie animated series that I making from scratch, by myself! It follows the fairies, Juliette and May on their quest to help the fairies of the Cloud Queendom, which they call home. There is a strange disease stealing fairies’ wings, so they must deliver a letter to their ally, the Butterfly Monarch, asking for aid.

About the World

Fairyland is made up of four main regions: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn. The Cloud Queendom, ruled by Queen Arabella, exists in the clouds above Summer. Each region (including the fifth, Sky region) is home to a different race of fae, along with various other beings like pixies and the occasional human. The Sky region is populated by the affinity fairies. Affinity fairies are unique in that each fairy is born with a particular power (their affinity), which they can develop and use throughout their life! They are rare to see on land because they are from a help-giving culture, and other races have learned this and will take advantage of them if given the chance. So, they live happily on the clouds instead!

May’s affinity is plant-based, and quite straightforward! Juliette, however, has not developed an affinity, something nearly unheard of. There is a superstition, though, that only great-grandfairies truly believe, that the longer it takes for an affinity to become clear, the more rare and powerful it will be..

About the Characters

Juliette Valennia is a young noblewoman, the daughter of Duchess Isadora Valennia, who grew up in the palace with her cousin, Prince Skye. She has a great passion for literature and though she lacks an affinity, she more than makes up for it with her clever intellect.

May Demethea grew up in one of the other cloud cities as one of five siblings, and came to the capitol to pursue a career in horticulture. She is one of the kindest fairies you’ll ever meet, and leads entirely with her heart. If only she knew just how wonderful she truly is.

Juliette and May have been best friends since they met in the first week of academy, and now that they’ve graduated, it’s time for them to forge their own paths! And as long as they are together, no dream is impossible!
