What I’m Watching: Sailor Moon R!

May is such a nice month ~ Spring is here and brings with it a certain joy and openness! Not to mention my best friend’s birthday at the start of the month! Our friendship is the inspiration for Juliette and May and I absolutely cherish it! If you are ever curious what she is like, you need only look to May, as she is written to be her, in all her kind, fierce, and nurturing glory. <3

Of course, I am also fond of “Mermay” as a whole, since I love mermaids as much as I love fairies. I have a great deal of whimiscal books and a good portion of my collection focuses on mermaids! Once my room is repainted and my shelves are put back in, I intend to put them on display, and theme my room around a mermaid-inspired summer. I also bought some of Flower Know’s Shell’s Jewel Collection which will compliment the teals and pearls nicely! I’m excited to be a Flower Knows affiliate now since I have so many of their products already. I don’t have anything from their actual mermaid collection, since it didn’t really speak to me, and it would be silly to buy something I know I won’t use. I’m not that sort of makeup collector! All of which to say, I’m glad they created another ocean-inspired collection! Also, I have to mention my discount code LOVELYFLOWERS for 5% off.

Steady progress is being made on my Fairyland Dream Address by the way, for those of you who play Animal Crossing New Horizons. I finished the Mermaid Beach, and I’m so incredibly happy with it! It’s meant to be a nice vacation spot, with a boutique full of fashion goodies, a nail salon with many beautiful pastel bottles, and of course a place to lounge with a colorful drink and watch the ocean. Season 4 of Fairy Best Friends will begin with Juliette and May vacationing to Mermaid Beach, hoping for a simple, fun, relaxing trip. No adventures, no quests, just shopping and lounging! That can’t be the case, of course, although I am not yet sure what troubles specifically will rise.

I also made my own Mermay prompt list this year, then hit a major art block immediately after ^^’ I am feeling creative again, though, so I’m hoping to still make some mermaid art! Better late than never, as they say. I would have more time, if I weren’t busy making phone charms, but they are just as fun!

My Advice: Recently I have taken an attitude of “Why not me? Why can’t good things happen to me?” It helps me to have more audacity and chip away at that awful imposter-feeling. After all, good things happen to people all of the time, so why exclude myself automatically? I am having a lot of fun signing up for things I would enjoy! I am finding ways to sell my handmade trinkets in real life, because what’s stopping me? I’m collecting affiliate links for brands I already support, because what’s the harm? Finding community, putting my art out there,, this is how connection arises. This is how I want to live my life: with audacity!
